Hi!

My name is Jackie Johnson-Powell, I am the owner of Jackie's Family Child Care and Preschool in Saugus. My philosophy is - I have all day in which I provide an atmosphere of free "play"  with a preschool curriculum to reinforce academics during play time, tender loving care helps your child to learn and grow through all developmental areas: Language, Emotional, Imaginative, Creative, Social, Cognitive, Physical, Healthy Habits and self-help skills. We have a large emphasis on teaching family values such as, being kind, careful, caring and making the right choices. I help parents raise their children as a team working together. I've been in business for 20+ years. My daughter and husband are my assistants with all required certifications to Sub.

I am certified in infant/toddler caregiver curriculum, as well as taken many classes from the Child Care Resource Center and the Family Child Care Association. I have also taken early childhood math and science curriculum classes at College of the Canyons. I've been a member of the Family Child Care Association for many years holding the positions of Board Member, News Letter Editor, Treasurer, Vice President and Membership.

Thank you for considering my Child care and preschool!

Love,
Miss Jackie

Child Care Program

From infancy to age 12. We teach speech from infancy and my preschool program starts at 18 months old. This way your child doesn't need to move around facilities so they receive consistent emotional support with the same provider. My school age children are kids that have been in our care through the preschool years.

Preschool Program

Unlike large preschools and daycares, your child gets unique one on one attention tailored to their cognitive level and learning style. We teach all Kindergarten readiness skills including computer skills with ABCMouse.com. We also tutor our school age children with homework.

huge variety of toys

A large play area is nothing without a huge variety of toys and activities! There is always something fun and exciting to do! Puzzles, play dough, games, legos, and blocks.

Learning always comes first...but that doesn't mean we don't have fun too! I have a back yard with a large sandbox and age appropriate toys for all.  We live at the end of a cul-de-sac allowing bike riding, plane and kite flying, along with our science garden!

Reviews from past and current clients

Jackie’s Family Daycare and Preschool is truly that. They are Family to my children. In the mornings, the children show the same excitement upon arrival as they do when they visit their grandparents. This is a facility run by a Husband, Wife and Daughter. Upon entering the home, it is obvious that their lives revolve around the children. They are each very nurturing to all the children and ensure the days are well balanced. The meals are very healthy consisting of lots of fruit and a very nutritional menu. The days consist of preschool lessons, computer learning and plenty of outdoor activities and exercise. I have two children attending Jackie’s full time since they were infants and another in kindergarten and attending afterschool. He started the school year very well prepared and I feel he had a head start due to the preparation he received while at Jackie’s. It is common for Jackie and “Uncle Eddie” to dig into their own pockets to pick up special treats for the children’s enjoyment. They truly go above and beyond what is expected from a Daycare provider. Don’t be surprised to see alumni coming back occasionally to visit. The only difficulties I have are that the children do not want to leave at the end of the day.

This family is the best thing that has ever happened to me and my son. My son BEGS to go there everyday - even weekends!! He has been going there since he was one. He is now 6 and I have NEVER had a complaint about Jackie and her family.
They provide and teach the kids about healthy living. Daily walks and lots of fun activities for the kids to enjoy. Once my son hit school year he was already ahead of the game with his reading/writing. They help with homework and play a VERY important part in my sons growing.
They are so loving, caring and now a part of my family. I am truly grateful I found them.

+ What is your license information?

I have a large licensed facility and right now there are 3 infants (1 year olds) children under 2, 3 preschoolers, and 5 school age children. My 5 school-age children were my clients who grew up with us, so they are well behaved and careful with the younger ones.

Call for current rates. You supply all diapers, wet wipes, ointments, sunblock, and all baby foods or any special needs foods, and extra clothing. I supply all table foods, preschool supplies, and toys.

Payments are made on the Friday before the week of care. It is the same amount every week even if absent. As for vacations, they are 1/2 rate.
